For the past few weeks, there has been a banner at the top of the site proclaiming that a new hobo would roll into town today. As you can see, the new hobo has arrived.
When I started HoboTrashcan in 2005, the goal was to make an an entertaining weekly pop culture e-zine. While I am incredibly proud of the work that everyone on the site has done over the past three years, the concept of doing a weekly e-zine now seems a bit outdated. So, starting today, HoboTrashcan is now a blog – one that will be updated five days a week, Monday through Friday.
We have kept a lot of your favorite columns, only now all of the columns will be updated weekly, instead of bi-weekly. We are also adding some exciting new features to the site that I think you will really enjoy. Here is the new update schedule.
One of the most exciting new features on the site is the ability to leave comments. This is something that a lot of you have been asking for, so I’m hoping you will all take advantage of this. We want to hear what you have to say about the new HoboTrashcan.
All of the columns, interviews and feature articles from 2008 have been moved over to this blog, but as of right now, all of the pre-2008 content hasn’t made the transition. We will gradually begin to move the rest of the content over to this new site and we will continue to spotlight the old content in our From the Vault feature.
From now on, we will also be posting every Hobo Radio podcast on this site, as well as on The Podcast Network.
Also, we will continue to send out Hobo Stu’s weekly newsletter, but it will be sent out on Fridays instead of Thursdays and it will provide a recap all of the new content added to the site each week. The newsletter will also be published here on the site as Hobo Stu’s Weekly Recap. You can also keep up to date on the site through our new RSS feed (the link is on the top right corner of this page).
