Hobo Stu’s Weekly Recap

Hobo Stu

Avast ye salty dogs and saucy wenches,

Today be International Talk Like a Pirate Day.

If you haven’t already checked out today’s Hobo Radio podcast featuring the co-creator of Talk Like a Pirate Day, Cap’n Slappy, I suggest you do it now, or else I’ll make you walk the plank.

And ye better have watched the season premiere of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia last night, since Kaitlin Olson was nice enough to do an interview with the site this week and since it also happens to be the funniest show currently on television. If I find out you didn’t watch it last night, I’ll send you down to Davy Jones Locker.

Now, if you will all excuse me, I’m off to do some rummin’ and some pillagin’.

Arrrrrrr!

Here’s what’s new on HoboTrashcan.com this week:

One on One with Kaitlin Olson
It’s true that It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, but things aren’t always so great for Sweet Dee, who has been set on fire, dissed by a mentally-challenged rapper and nicknamed “The Aluminum Monster” in high school thanks to a back brace she wore for her severe scoliosis.

Season four of the hit comedy, which has been described as “Seinfeld on crack,” debuts tonight on FX, so we recently caught up with Kaitlin Olson to see if things will be “sunnier” for her character this season. Unfortunately, if the character’s upcoming waterboarding is any indication, it’s going to be another long season for Sweet Dee.

Murphy’s Law – One Shot: Gossip Girl
Joel Murphy continues his quest to seek out shows that he wouldn’t normally watch and give them “one shot” to impress him. This week, he watched Monday’s episode of The CW’s Gossip Girl and shares an in-depth review of “The Dark Night,” including the episode’s five most unbelievable plot points.

Note to Self – Not Reggie
In 2006, everyone believed Reggie Bush would be the first overall draft pick. However, Houston Texans general manager Charlie Casserly decided to chose defensive end Mario Williams instead, a move that shocked and outraged many fans. Two years later, Brian Murphy takes a look at Bush’s lackluster NFL career and wonders why Bush hasn’t lived up to fans’ initial expectations.

Outside of the In-Crowd – Wedding Ebola
In the last few weeks, a majority of Courtney Enlow’s friends and acquaintances have gotten engaged. While this news would make most people happy, Enlow can’t help but wonder why her friends are in such a rush to get hitched. In fact, she can think of only three reasons why young couples should marry.

Overrated – Athletes coming out of retirement
Lance Armstrong has announced he will return to cycling, a move which makes Ned Bitter cringe. While Bitters understands the initial excitement fans feel when an athlete comes out of retirement, he knows those fans will inevitably be disappointed when they discover their beloved sports icon isn’t as athletic as he used to be.
