Zeet - Thanks for coming over and reading. I'm glad we're thinking on the same page, and I appreciate you directing people over here. I'd love to hear their thoughts. As for any further speculation about the specifics of who jumped to 1977 and who stayed in the present, I may have to wait until next week to delve deeper into that. I'm not convinced that Sun isn't in the past, and only time will tell.

Joel - Kickass theory, man. I started thinking about Horace's kid the other day when I was writing my column, but I completely forgot to go down that road before I submitted it. I'm going to have to put this in my brain and let it rattle around for a day. I'll definitely touch on it during my "intermezzo" post this week. It'll be item three on the agenda!

Chris, I just rewatched “LaFleur” and a theory popped into my head.

We see Horace's wife give birth to a son, but they never say the kid's name. Since people have trouble giving birth on the island, there is a good chance that there is something special about the baby. And they never tell us the kid's name.

What if the kid is Jacob? We know that Horace was building Jacob's cabin in the episode you referenced. So what if Horace was building it for his whole family?

Who knows if I'm right or not - but the thought popped into my head and I felt it like was worth mentioning. I'd love to hear your take on it though.

Hey Chris! I just read though your recent theories today (due to Michael Emerson's shout-out! congrats!) and was amazed how similar your postulations were to what I'm thinking as well. Of course the ultimate Lost theory will be something quite complex, but I think your approach is fairly direct and succinct, which I think is the more likely route.

I feel that you're onto something with the whole Daniel Faraday's notebook, am very interested to hear more from you about how some of the returning O6 ended up back in 1977 and how Sun seemed to be the only O6 member (from what I can tell) that ended up in the 'present day' on the Hydra, along with Lapidus, Ben, Locke and the other Ajira folk.

Anyway, now that I've found your site, I'm just going to keep directing people to it, because you explain what I've been thinking, just in a more articulate way. Keep up the good work!

Nic,

Wow, I'm glad you've stuck with me for that long! I appreciate the comments and the vote of confidence. Oh, and thanks for bringing the Lost: Deconstructed episodes - I've actually only watched one of those, mostly because I tend to watch the previous week's episode two or three times in order to do the recap and analysis. I had no idea that I was coming so close, or that the writers were stealing my ideas. ;)

Thanks so much and I hope you keep reading!

I have been reading your posts for 2 years or so now, maybe longer, and I must agree with Michael Emerson, your brain droppings are some of the smartest and most well thought-out ideas about Lost I have ever heard/read/or thought myself. Keep up the amazing work and we'll all keep reading. By the way... it's quite creepy how your recap and the "subtitles" that play on the repeated episode from the previous week right before the new episode airs are strikingly similar. There have even been instances where they have either directly quoted something you posted, or your mind runs parallel to the writing staff. Either way, it's too cool.

All the Best,
-Nic

James, thanks so much for your compliments and for reading. As for that last sentence, it was about 4 a.m. by the time I got around to that line of thinking and I think my brain was fried. It didn't quite come out the way I wanted it to, and I didn't have enough time to really flesh out my thoughts on the matter. I'll probably add that one to my long list of things I'd like to revisit in the future.

So no worries, your brain hasn't declared war, only mine!

Cheers!

Chris - Another fantastic blog. I look forward to your column and it makes watching, or, rather rewatching, the show more fun.

Question: The second-to-last paragraph of the column, beginning with, "Does the gas have anything to do with the temporal...." Is this perhaps mis-worded, unintentionally ambiguous, or has my brain declared war on me again?

Thanks again. - JB
