I'll watch my (signed) copy of High Fidelity when I'm single and bummed, but never ever when I'm heartbroken. That's when I watch 300 or Boondock Saints. I always say go with what you're feeling, and accept that you'll get over it eventually without the help of a diametrically opposed flick :-) If you're feeling angry, watch an angry movie. I'd marry Molly Ringwald. Then, now, whatever. I'm with it. I’m thankful this tragedy has never befallen me. I watched Say Anything after a breakup, hoping Lloyd Dobler would make me happy; it was traumatic and indeed involved much yelling at the screen, and then crying myself to sleep. I'm not proud. I vowed to never watch it again. But of course, time passes, and Lloyd has the power to make me all dreamy-eyed still. Your words of caution should be heeded well. Oh, Courtney.
