Honestly, how can you like them after Bono's ego started matching the size of his sunglasses. Argh! Considering that last paragraph, am I any worse than a person who hates Coldplay? I'll admit, when I hear that someone really loves Coldplay, I assume either a) They are a 30-something mom who hears them on the light rock radio station while she's driving her kids to school or b) they don't have very broad musical horizons. Even people who HATE U2 for any number of reasons can sometimes admit that "Where The Streets Have No Name" when played at the appropriate volume (I set my volume knob at 'one louder') can make you feel pretty fucking awesome. Chris Martin is just a sad, sad panda, and not even in that edgy, cool Trent Reznor way. I mean, Oasis isn't cutting it anymore either but that doesn't mean we need some band to make "Morning Glory" on downers.
