Hobo Stu’s Weekly Recap

Hobo Stu

Hello everyone,

Wow, we had not one, but two interventions on the site this week.

I feel like this could get out of hand very easily. It’s getting to the point where I’m afraid to walk into a dark room here at Hobo Headquarters because I’m afraid the lights are going to pop on and everyone on the staff is going to be waiting to ambush me to make me change my life.

Look, I don’t care what you guys say – a bowl of Skittles with milk poured on top of them is a perfectly acceptable breakfast. And I’m not going to change my eating habits for you or for anyone!

Here’s what’s new on HoboTrashcan.com this week:

Murphy’s Law – Can’t stop The Rock
After watching the trailer for The Rock’s new film, The Tooth Fairy, Joel Murphy felt it was time for drastic action. This week, he stages an intervention for the wrestler turned actor in order to save his struggling career before its too late.

Outside of the In-Crowd – This is an intervention
Courtney Enlow also felt inspired to stage an intervention this week. Enlow’s intervention is for Lindsay Lohan, the once promising actor who is now known more for her real life antics than her on-screen roles. Enlow has even prepared visual aids to show Lindsay how far she has fallen.

Guest Blog Post – Oh, the drama
A recent trip to the Wal-mart checkout lane has guest blogger Amanda Lowery wondering why we are so obsessed with celebrity gossip magazines. Lowery tries to figure out what draws us to these magazines and what convinces certain publishers to make up outlandish lies about celebrities.

Hobo Radio 101 – Kevin Conroy, the voice of Batman
Last week, we brought you an interview with Kevin Conroy, a man who has spent the last 18 years providing the voice of Batman on everything from the groundbreaking Batman: The Animated Series to the recently released Batman: Arkham Asylum video game. This week, in a special podcast, we share a few audio highlights from that interview.

Finish That Fortune 6
We provide you with the first half of a real fortune from a fortune cookie and it’s up to you to fill in the blank (and you can’t just write “in bed”). Every week, we will pick the funniest response. You won’t actually win a prize, but you will get the satisfaction of knowing that you are better than everyone else. And your name will be printed here on the site, so that others may bask in your glory.

From the Vault – One on One with John Michael Higgins
You may know John Michael Higgins from his comedic roles, but that doesn’t mean he isn’t serious about acting. From his first love, the theatre, to his breakout role as David Letterman in The Late Shift and his memorable roles in Christopher Guest’s films, Higgins is a hard working actor who has honed his craft since he was a child.

Last year, he was given a starring role on the NBC sitcom Kath and Kim. We caught up with Higgins before the premiere to talk about the show, life as a journeyman actor and his tendency to create quartets to pass the time on set. If you already missed the interview once, don’t be a two-time loser. Enjoy his interview now, from the vault.
