I haven’t seen The Five-Year Engagement yet (being a hobo, I tend to wait until movies end up being shown on TBS so I can watch them through the window of a department store), but I can’t help but wonder if most of their romantic problems could have been solved if Emily Blunt’s character simply sang “Single Ladies” by Beyonce to Jason Segel’s character, making it clear that if he likes it then he needs to put a ring on it.
Here’s what’s new on HoboTrashcan.com this week:
Review – The Five-Year Engagement
The Five-Year Engagement boasts an impressive comedic cast that includes Jason Segel, Emily Blunt, Chris Pratt and Alison Brie and it was produced by comedic powerhouse Judd Apatow. But does it live up to the hype? Find out in our review.
Murphy’s Law – Let’s sink their Battleship
On May 18, moviegoers will have a chance to see Battleship, the big budget Peter Berg movie based on a board game. Joel Murphy can’t believe we’ve actually reached a point where we are making this movie and he calls for a boycott of the film.
Positive Cynicism – There are changes and there are changes
A recent change to Blogger’s interface set off the predictable chain of people complaining about how they liked the old interface better (even though they had previously complained about that interface as well). Aaron R. Davis calls for an end to the complaining.
From the Vault – Overrated – NHL playoff beards
Another year of Stanley Cup playoffs are upon us, which means that once again NHL players are growing scraggly playoff beards. Ned Bitters called for an end to these follicle monstrosities in this classic column.
