Hobo Radio 306 – Hurricane Zoinks
A recent study found that female-named hurricanes claim more lives than male-named hurricanes “because people don’t respect them.” This week, Joel Murphy and Lars discuss the survey, which Lars is rather dubious about.
They also discuss Calvin and Hobbes‘ creator Bill Waterson’s surprising return to comics, the strange power dynamics on Scooby Doo and Tracy Morgan’s car accident.
Why does Michael Jordan think he can rock a Hitler mustache? What would you say to Bill Murray if you saw him on the street? Who would win in a debate between President Obama and Jeff Goldblum? The answers to these questions and more are in this week’s podcast.
This week’s music:
- Intro – “Giddy Up” by Tahuna Breaks
- End – “Root to Seed” by Thoughtsarizen

No, no. The swastika was not native American, but rather the ol’ Buddhists and Hindi. They used it as a symbol for luck and I just read that it also stands for the origin of the world too.
