Joel Murphy tends to get a lot of e-mails sent to him by mistake. People send him really personal notes meant for someone else. So, being the cruel bastard he is, he thought it would be fun to share these e-mails with you. From time to time, he publishes another one of the many letters that keep flooding his inbox.

This is an actual e-mail, accidentally sent to Joel's personal account.

Hi Ken

John told me that he ran into you today, and I remembered that I needed to contact you about whether you could do a band gig with us on the 16 June, 4 days after John has left for England. It is out at the upper Brookfield Hall, and they want us to play from 7.30 - approx 11.30 (perhaps less). It is for the Bush Fire Brigade. I sent you an email at the time I took the booking, but you mustn't have received it. I quoted $825 including GST for the job. It should be fun and not too demanding.

Would you mind letting me know if you could do the gig with us?

Hope you and Paula are both keeping well. I have our school musical on in 2 weeks, and I also have two 3,000 word assignments to complete before the end of term, so I am a little busy at the moment.

Cheers

Janet

So, remember kids, always double check the e-mail address of the person you are sending the letter to. The Internet can be a big, scary place and there will always be jerks out there just waiting to post your personal messages on their website for other people's enjoyment. And stay in school.

If someone has accidentally sent you an e-mail that you'd like to see published here, you can forward it to: wrongaddress@hobotrashcan.com.

Just make sure you type the address correctly.
