In honor of James Gandolfini, we bring you this column from December 2009. As that decade was ending and we were entering into the 10s, Joel Murphy compiled a list of the 25 most memorable characters on television. It was a comprehensive list of the heavy hitters of the last decade and the competition was fierce. But you can probably guess who he named number one:
