Week 56 Spotlight: More like Star Bores.

On May 19, 1999, Joel Murphy, Lars, and countless other Star Wars fans flocked to the theaters to see Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace. Two hours later, they walked out of the theater feeling depressed and betrayed.

Nine years and two awful movies later, George Lucas is once again poised to crush the spirits of his few remaining fans with The Clone Wars. This week, Joel and Lars try to figure out why such a rich and successful man would continue to damage the credibility of his franchise with another terrible film.

Why does George Lucas continue to make bad Star Wars movies? Is Ziro the Hutt the most offensive character Lucas has ever created? How does Lars spend his time at work? The answers to these questions and more are in this week’s show.
