Joel and Lars don’t have much to look forward to in their lives, but the one day every year that is marked on their calenders with smiley faces is September 19 – International Talk Like a Pirate Day. Not only is it a day that they get to call up their friends and shout “Arrrrrrrrrrrrr!” but it is also an excuse for them to call the world’s most lovable pirate, Cap’n Slappy.
Cap’n Slappy, along with his friend Ol’ Chumbucket, created International Talk Like a Pirate Day. So this week, the boys bring Slappy on the show to find out how he will be celebrating this year. They also get his take on vampires and Batman and they even run their new holiday by him – September 20, Eat Like a Hobo Day. I am so excited for Saturday. I will be surrounded by a fairly large number of pirates all day. (One of the many benefits of working at a Ren. Faire.) I shall be decked out in my best saucy wench outfit for the occasion. And I’m gonna have to bust out the “Z Walk” on Saturday as well.
