Hobo Radio Interview – Remembering James “Kamala” Harris

The wrestling world was saddened to learn of the passing of James “Kamala” Harris, a legendary 80s wrestler who was born in rural Mississippi. Harris worked as a sharecropper and truck driver before finding success in the ring.
In 2006, we talked to Harris about his career, including his matches with Hulk Hogan and Andre the Giant, and how he felt he never earned the main event money he deserved. The interview originally ran in print form on September 26, 2006. Today, in honor of his passing, we are sharing the audio from that interview for the first time.
This week’s music:
- Intro – “Giddy Up” by Tahuna Breaks
- Interstitial – “Vishnu Meets Funk” and “Ancient Ritual” by Lucas Perný & Miloslav Kollar
- End – “If I had a dollar” by James Harris
