Hobo Radio 233 – The Florence + The Machine debacle
Both Joel Murphy and Lars had plans to attend the Florence + The Machine concert at Meriweather Post Pavilion. But only one of them would make it inside to see Florence. The other one was in for a night of disappointment. The dynamic duo explain what went wrong in this week’s show, a sordid tale that involves tickets bought on StubHub.
They also discuss the scam that is the Hollywood “based on a true story” claim. From exorcism movies to Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, any movie can claim to be “based on a true story,” no matter how much Hollywood bullshit is thrown into it. Even Fargo, a movie that is 100 percent fictional.
Have you ever accidentally touched the leg of your co-host right before starting your podcast? How do you turn your kid into a Tiger Woods-esque superstar? What happened to last week’s show? The answers to these questions and more are in this week’s podcast.
This week’s music:
- Intro – “Giddy Up” by Tahuna Breaks
- End – “If I Had Money” by Emily The Complexes
See, what they mean by “based on a real story” is that someone made up that story at some point, like a book or something… which is a real thing, you know.
